Bath Brush Basics
The skin is the largest organ of the body. Not only does the skin serve as “protector” of our internal organs, skeletal, and muscular systems, it also plays a major role in eliminating waste and toxins. The elimination process takes place via the pores in our skin through perspiration and metabolic activity. Just as one may experience head or chest congestion during a cold or flu, the pores in our skin can become congested, making it difficult, or sometimes impossible , to eliminate any necessary waste or toxins from the body. What causes our pores to become congested? Certain soaps, creams, and deodorants can be culprits as well as pollution and even the smallest fibers of our clothes. The end result? Congested pores may lead to headaches, lethergy, skin eruptions, colds, flu, irritability, and the list goes on and on and on. |
| Skin brushing is a simple technique that assists in keeping the pores of our skin open, allowing the necessary release of toxins and waste. Not only does skin brushing help with the release of waste and toxins, it also: |
• Stimulates Blood and Lymph Flow
• Removes Dead Skin Cells to Encourage Cell Renewal
• Helps in the Reduction of Cellulite
• Stimulates Production of Sebum (natural oil in our skin)
• Results in Smooth Glowing Skin

Using a bath brush properly is quite simple. Just remember one simple thing. Always brush towards the heart. Start on you feet and work upwards, brushing the legs, front and back, then buttocks, and lower back. Next, brush the stomach in circular counter-clockwise strokes. When you reach the chest, be sure to brush more gently. Lastly, brush you hands, up the arms, and end at your shoulders.
Brush each body part several times vigourously. Depending on how many strokes per body part you use, the whole process should take no longer than take 3 - 5 minutes. If dry brushing, be sure to take a warm bath or shower, followed by a cool rinse.
Be sure to wash your brush weekly by rinsing in warm water and allowing to air dry. |
About Our Bath Brushes
Our bath brushes are available in three all natural fibers; Jute, Sisal, and Coconut. Jute has the softest texture. Made with fibers extracted from the trunk of the jute tree, native to India and Bangladesh, its wonderfully soft texture is perfect for dry brushing and for use on sensitive skin. We offer a variety of shapes and sizes of these brushes perfect for use on your body, back, and bikini area.
Sisal is our medium textured brush. Made with fibers extracted from the long, green fleshy leaves of the sisal plants of Kenya and Tanzania, its semi-firm fibers are ideal for use as a wet or dry brush. Again, we offer a variety of shapes and sizes of these brushes perfect for use on your body, back, and bikini area.
Our most coarse textured brush is made with the fibers extracted from the husks of Sri Lankan coconut. The firm texture of our Coconut brush makes it perfect for use as a wet or a dry brush. We offer various sizes for use on your body, back, or feet.
